Staff Attorney
We are seeking a full-time Staff Attorney for our Knoxville office to provide high-quality legal services to families and individuals served by Legal Aid, focusing primarily on representing individuals in cases involving denial, termination, reduction or overpayment of benefits in many federal and state programs (including SSI, SSDI, Food Stamps, and more). A demonstrated commitment to exceptional legal work and equal access to justice is required. Candidates should exhibit cultural awareness and empathy towards the communities we serve while embodying the mission and values of LAET with integrity and courage.
Salary: Dependent upon experience, from $61,981 for newly admitted attorneys, higher for each year of experience thereafter. LAET offers a generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, retirement, and paid leave.
Qualifications: Candidates must be admitted to the Tennessee Bar, a recent law graduate anticipating admission to the Tennessee Bar, or admitted to the bar of another state with the ability to waive into Tennessee.
